After two years of building compassion, connections and capabilities for girls with physical differences, SheLift realized it's not just the young women who need community – it's the mom's, too. This spring, SheLift set out to take it's youngest group of girls skiing in Park City, Utah with their moms! Together, we hit the slopes, ready to conquer mountains, fly off jumps and shred the gnar... with our youngest group yet. Five young girls and their moms came together for the ultimate Mother + Daughter weekend in the pursuit of overcoming physical challenges, forming deep, meaningful connections, and playing in the snow.
Four young women from around the country came together to overcome self-limiting beliefs through adventure in Moab with Sarah Herron and SheLift. They overcame obstacles, learned about each other's struggles and worked together, transforming into more confident, stronger women. Ready to take a giant leap of faith on adventure – and on themselves – Kaitlin, 25, Laura, 22, Maria, 22, and Madisyn, 20, all ventured to the mecca of adventure, Moab, Utah, for an experience of a lifetime.
On March 18, 2017, a group of seven women stepped onto the tarmac in Aspen, Colorado for the first time. Near strangers, brought together by their physical differences and united by Sarah Herron’s courageous vision to challenge the status quo, would partake in the inaugural SheLift Retreat. For four days, they would connect, reveal their deepest secrets and greatest insecurities, and conquer personal mountains by taking on the challenge of learning to ski or snowboard. With the help of Challenge Aspen, Icelantic Skis, Strafe Outerwear, and champion skier/SheLift mentor Jennifer Robyn Moore our women headed to Colorado to learn to ski for the first time. Thank you to all of our sponsors and talented partners for making this unforgettable story for the world to see. Featured track "Navigator" provided by MOONZz.
