Will you #OptOutside with me? – Grand Staircase Escalante, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Beyond!

3 years ago, @REI decided to close their doors on the biggest shopping day of the year – Black Friday – and instead, paid their 12,000+ employees to get outside and invited everyone to do the same. Pretty awesome. The campaign was aptly named #OptOutside and was wildly successful. The hashtag has since become one of the most used tags by the brand and customers, taking on a life of its own. Today, the hashtag is used year-round to document and motivate outdoor enthusiasts to share their adventures.
This year, REI will closing their doors on Black Friday, once again, and I am so excited to be partnering with them to help motivate YOU to #OptOutside on Black Friday. Though I’ve officially adopted the #OptOutside mantra and shared many of my adventures to the tag, this will be my first year going all out on the one day that it matters most.
The travel log is wide open with ideas and options of how I’ll spend it; in the mountains skiing, in the desert rock climbing, hiking, or just aimlessly wandering outside… options are endless! Either way, I’m excited to get my family and friends on board to trade in shopping, for connecting and adventuring outside together. I want to hear how YOU plan to #OptOutside this year, because I’m still looking for ideas… who knows, maybe we can even like, #OptOutside together and get the biggest group photo ever. Comment below where you plan to #OptOutside this Black Friday.
Here are some of my favorite #OptOutside memories if you need some creative inspiration. Message me for details and tips!
